Channeled on October 12, 2017 “From times in between like this come the most interesting fantasies about what we think we are. From the time in between like this—in between lifetimes, in between emerging from the cocoon—we have these fantasies that we are some other creature. For example, if we were cat we think we are dog, if we are mouse we think we are rat, if we are butterfly we think we are forgotten. In these in-between times when we are betwixt and between what we once were and what we are coming into, it can feel as if in this time of great expansion that we want to settle for a little small amount of change and be done with it. Because we are tired of the changing itself. We are tired of feeling pushed and pulled and shattered into light, shattered into anything. We want to be that creature that we were so familiar with. That well-loved teddy bear from childhood or that well-worn shoe. Although it no longer looks good to others, it feels so comfortable to us. So like that we are coming out of our are old shoes, out of our old childhood ways. And yet we are seeking for the old ways of comfort. This is the hallmark of the in-between time. We will look even farther back then where we were a few months ago, seeking for some sense of familiarity, some sense of comfort. Perhaps connecting with old flames or parents or childhood friends. Perhaps connecting with our energy patterns and personality quirks of those times in our life. That is fine. That is good in a way to revisit these things, to replay them in order to fully let go of any snags that are there upon our consciousness. If there are any deep pools of regret or sadness, if there are any unexplored paths that were wishes unfulfilled, it is a good time to look into all of those. So without going so far back that we become our old self, it is good to review: Why was I that way? And why have I changed so much? Is that something I intended to, or did life softened down some jagged edges in the waterfall, and did I mean to have a sharp edge for cutting some window open? So, like that you might see if there are any strong patterns that emerge from childhood or some seven years or more ago. Is there some unfulfilled wish, some deep regret, some longing there? Some sadness that wants to cry out to be done with? This is the time in the in-between time to let go of some of that old hurt and to open up those passageways that were never fully explored of identities and wishes that we thought or impractical or unsuitable for our life at that time. Perhaps they are suitable now. So this is the type of backwards introspection we would encourage at this time. It is not that you in fact moving backward, but perhaps you left a little piece behind that you meant to carry with you. Or perhaps you carried with you a large piece, emotional peace, that you meant to leave behind. Like that it is the time to circle back through this childhood experience, and see what it is we can connect into: a stronger, clearer passage into our future. So again it is not like becoming the child, or that person seven or more years ago, but just reviewing from the standpoint we have now: was there something lost or something carried over that was misplaced. That is the most productive way to use this next week or so, perhaps month or so. In smoothing that passage from childhood, looking for any rough edges to be torn away, smoothed down, looked at once more. Are there any things snagging at your consciousness that need to be addressed there? We tell you again that this is a time when wishes do come true so if it is a regret for not having moved in a certain direction (to become a ballerina, an artist, something like this), what are the ways you can make an opening for that energy into your lifetime now? And could be quite literally to have that same dream. And it could be to incorporate it into life that is now. So like that compassionately unto ourselves we are not going to say: That door is closed. Grow up, stop being a child. We are going to stay say instead: Oh, I wonder why I am remembering that sad moment? Perhaps I should sit and grieve that for a moment. Or: oh, I remember that magical wish I had to travel to Ireland. Maybe I can make that true now. Perhaps the land of fairies is here in my own backyard. Or perhaps it is time to buy a plane ticket. The adult has so many more powers than the child had in a sense to create this wish fulfillment. And also the adult has that way of holding onto old emotions like stones that the child could more easily let go of. So perhaps it is to bring the child into our life now and let it cry, let it wail about, throw a tantrum about (but not around others please), throw a tantrum about some circumstance in our life that we just cannot fathom. So regret is not a sign that you have made a wrong choice in your past necessarily. Regret is an indication that your current heart is not in alignment with something that happened between that decision and how you got to where you are today. It might not be the most obvious thing, but let that emotion of regret tug at you, pull you a little down that memory lane until you find what it is where you believe you took a wrong turning. And address that. It is time to address those old fears and wounds and wishes from childhood, and then you will see what we come into in the short-term is much more magical and easy on the heart, because it will not feel so trapped by this regret.” Photo by Killy Ridols - Patagonia, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=10275490
